About Us
Our Purpose
To glorify God as we make disciples who know Jesus personally, nurture them to maturity in Christ, equip them for ministry in the church, and release them in mission to the world.
Our Mission
To fulfill the Biblical mandates of the
- Great Command: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself."Matthew 22:36-39
- Great Commission: "Go and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19-20
This is done as we
- Minister to the Lord in worship, prayer, and stewardship
- Minister to the saints through education and fellowship
- Minister to the world by evangelism and service
Our Vision
To be a life giving church that shines as a lighthouse into the hearts and homes of the Upper Perkiomen area and to network with others to extend the Kingdom of God locally, nationally, and globally.
By applying the principles of New Testament Christianity, we seek to create a redeemed community of faith that ministers to people as a hospital for healing and a garden for growing.
The outcome will be the church growing
- In spirituality
- In service
- In numbers
Our Faith
As a Mennonite Fellowship, we recognize the historic and contemporary Mennonite Church statements of faith:
- Christ is the center of all belief and activity of the Church, which is his Body.
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the basis for faith and practice.
- All persons have sinned and are alienated from God.
- People are reconciled with God and set free from sin by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who defeated Satan by his death, resurrection, and ascension.
- Discipleship is a lifelong journey of daily denying self, taking up our cross and following Christ.
- Through the Holy Spirit believers receive power, are given gifts and receive guidance. The Holy Spirit acts in response to the prayers of the Church.
- Believers are stewards of God's blessings of life, time, spiritual gifts, talent, money, and natural resources.
- God gives servant leaders to the Church to provide vision and equipping for ministry.
- Christ desires the unity of the church as a loving disciplined community of faith where members are willing to give and receive counsel.
- Families are the basic unit of relationships with God's blessing upon marriage and singleness.
- God creates all human life sacred and calls believers to love and seek the welfare of all persons.
- Jesus Christ will return to earth to resurrect the dead, and consummate history.
Our History
We are a community church, established by the Lord in 1935 to minister to the greater Perkiomenville area.
We are locally a member of the Franconia Mennonite Conference and, through them, a part of the Mennonite Church USA and the Mennonite World Conference. As such, we seek to extend the Kingdom of God in the local community, across America, and around the world.
Mennonite Church USA Vision
"God calls us to be followers of Jesus Christ, and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to grow as communities of grace, joy, and peace, so that God’s healing and hope flow through us to the world."
Our Ministry
The church is led by a team of elders, whose ministry focus is to provide vision, proclaim the Word and prepare the people of God for ministry.
Our organizational structure is built around seven ministries named in Acts 2:42-47: education, evangelism, fellowship, prayer, service, stewardship, and worship.
